Why the delay could be an April Fools joke, and why not
Why it can
- announcement was made a short time before, rating companies never do things on such short notice
- the PEGI nor SCEE are not known to censor games, USK and such haven't ever delayed a game
- the announcement was exactly 2 weeks prior to April 1st
- the RGSC downtime and PS3 update are still on schedule as if it were 30th of March
- large companies have been known to do this before, see FileFront's 2009 'closure'
- they say 'to be fair to Europeans', but have 'switched' the release date to an non-worldwide date
- the Social Club events calendar still shows an event for April 2nd/April 3rd with EFLC, they've had nearly a week to update the original post
- the announcement was only officially made on the Newswire
- retailers can have late change announcements
Why it wouldn't be
- retailer confusion, if retailers would expect it on March 30th, the news'd have been leaked already
- they said 'Check back soon for a fully updated calendar of events for the coming months.', the original 'delay' post said about updated events (but that could easily be to help the joke!)
- a separate release date for the US and Europe was planned
- they could have had the update schedule set already (but don't updates need to be screened as well?)
- 'they don't lie. really.'
