ATI Radeon HD 4890
AMD je napokon i službeno predstavio tvrtkinu trenutno najsnažniju jednoprocesorsku grafičku karticu u ponudi, ATI Radeon HD 4890.
Kako je već poznato, karticu pokreće 55-nanometarski grafički procesor RV790 koji, uz poneku optimizaciju, posjeduje 800 shadera te 40 teksturnih i 16 ROP jedinica, baš kao i RV770 prisutan u Radeonu HD 4850 i 4870. ATI Radeon HD 4890 je desetak posto brži od potonje kartice, što može zahvaliti višim referentnim radnim taktovima. Oni iznose 850 MHz za GPU (AMD tvrdi kako je čip moguće relativno lako overclockirati i na 1 GHz) te efektivnih 3.900 MHz za gigabajt GDDR5 memorije.
Memorijska sabirnica je širine 256 bita, a memoriju je također moguće overclockirati do efektivnog takta od 4.400 MHz. Kompanija tvrdi da novi čip ima sirovu snagu od 1,36 teraflopsa, a tu je i već standardna podrška za DirectX 10.1, OpenGL 3.0, ATI Stream i slične tehnologije. Preporučene cijene se kreću oko 250 dolara, a svoje modele u ponudi već ima većina proizvođača hardvera.

Energetski učinkoviti OCZ Z
OCZ je objavio kako su tvrtkina napajanja iz nove linije Z dobila certifikat 80 Plus za visoku energetsku učinkovitost. Napajanje OCZ Z1000 snage 1.000 W dobilo je certifikat 80 Plus Gold, što označava učinkovitost od barem 87 posto pri punom opterećenju i 90-postotnu učinkovitost pri opterećenju od 50 posto.
Slabija napajanja snage 650 i 550 W posjeduju 80 Plus Silver certifikat uz energetsku učinkovitost od 89 posto pri prosječnom opterećenju. Napajanja će biti dostupna u klasičnoj i modularnoj izvedbi te već navedenim snagama od 550 (Z550), 650 (Z650) i 1.000 vata (Z1000). Prodaja kreće tokom proljeća.

A šta je tu čudno kad usb nemože prenijet tolku količinu struje...
Već je na G15 bilo vidljivo da se ne smije uštekat neki veći potrošač na usb ugrađen u keybi...zamisli da spojiš dva veća potrošača na tu keybu...plus toga kaj ona troši...a sve ide preko jednog usb-a.
Tak da im je jedino preostalo ili stavit struju preko 2 usb-a ili ovo kaj su i sad napravili.
Ako se budu silile takve điđe miđe poput ekrana to bude za takve tipkovnice s vremenom postalo normalna stvar.
Da. Nazalost. Negine nam i kupnja vecih lopova.

Brži Phenom II krajem travnja
AMD krajem ovog mjeseca namjerava pustiti u prodaju do sada najbrži procesor iz obitelji Phenom II. Riječ je o čipu Phenom II X4 955 za utor AM3 i radnog takta 3,2 GHz. Procesor ostaje u TDP okvirima od 125 W, dok je količina cache memorije 8 MB.
Premda po brzini ne može konkurirati Intelovim Core i7 965 i 975, ovaj procesor bi mogao privući korisnike koji žele ipak pristojne performanse uz nižu cijenu. Očekivana cijena za Phenom II X4 955 bi trebala biti nešto iznad 300 dolara.

Microsoft SideWinder X3
Microsoft je za svibanj najavio još jednog miša iz igraće porodice SideWinder, model SideWinder X3. Pomalo suzdržanog dizajna i manjih dimenzija od prethodnika, ovo je prvi model u liniji simetričnog oblika, odnosno prilagođen i ljevacima i dešnjacima.
Hardver je već poznat, laser je razlučivosti 2.000 dpi s mogućnošću podešavanja rezolucije pomoću zasebnih tipki. Miš posjeduje ukupno pet programibilnih tipaka, dok one glavne navodno mogu izdržati 10 milijuna "klikova". Korisnici makroe programiraju pomoću softvera IntelliPoint, a tu su i po jedna tipka sa svake strane te široki kotačić za dodatnu preciznost. Osim na performanse, Microsoft je pazio i na cijenu koja iznosi 39,95 dolara.

Vidim pise da kartica ima nativni HDMI pa da jos jedanput provjerim da nije ipak greska u pitanju. Znaci kod te kartice ne treba nista prckati i povezivati sa zvucnom nego se samo usteka HDMI kabel u karticu i u monitor/TV i sve radi kao i na ATI karticama?
Btw. Super mi je sto ovaj model ima sva tri izlaza pa prosjecni korisnik (s jednim monitorom) nema potrebe za prckanjem oko adaptera...

ATI Radeon HD 4770 u svibnju?
AMD u svibnju namjerava pustiti u prodaju liniju grafičkih kartica Radeon HD 4700, temeljene na čipu RV740. Ovo je prvi GPU za stolna računala rađen u najmodernijem 40-nanometarskom procesu, a prva kartica u liniji je Radeon HD 4770.
Riječ je o vrlo zanimljivom modelu sa 640 stream-procesora, 32 teksturne i 16 ROP jedinica te 128-bitnom memorijskom sabirnicom. Unatoč užoj sabirnici, 512 MB memorije je GDDR5 tipa, tako da propusnost ostaje solidnih 51,2 GB/s. Takt memorije iznosi 800, a procesora 750 megaherca, a već su procurili i službeni slajdovi u kojima kompanija karticu uspoređuje s konkurencijom u istom rangu – GeForceom 9800 GT.
Radeon nudi gotovo dvostruko više sirove snage (960 naspram 504 GFLOPs) uz upotrebu modernije i brže memorije te podrške za DirectX 10.1. Novi Radeon pokazuje i značajno bolje performanse, osobito u visokim rezolucijama u odnosu na vremešni GeForce, no najbolja stvar u cijeloj priči je cijena. AMD navodi preporučenu cijenu od 99 dolara, što i predstavlja najveći segment tržišta. Za stvarnu cijenu i više benchmarka ipak valja pričekati sljedeći mjesec.
zanimljiva kartica iz ASUSove ergele... kartica je uz bok gtx285 prema ovim testovima... vjerojatno bude i cijena zanimljiva...

Even though a lot of impressive things were demonstrated at NAB 2009, the broadcast show in Las Vegas, Nevada - the title of potential "industry changer" without any doubt goes to just firmed DiiVA v1.0 standard.
DiiVA v1.0 [Digital Interactive Interface for Video & Audio]Sis a new connecting interface intended to replace not just HDMI, but Ethernet, USB, DVI, DisplayPort and reduce the number of communication cables to only two: power and DiiVA.
This standard is backed by LG, Panasonic, Samsung and the Chinese government. In short, CE companies are increasingly growing tired of HDMI and all the limitations of the standard [not to mention royalties], and with the upcoming "beyond HD" 4K resolution TVs [3840x2160 or 4096x2160 e.g. 2160p], large players in the industry feel the time has come to wave good bye to Silicon Image royalties and throw out HDMI altogether. Replacing a standard is nothing short of impressive and it is hard to believe that an industry known for its incompatibilities [remember connecting Sony VCR to Pioneer CRT TV? Those were the days of "fun"]Smanaged to sit behind one table and negotiate a single, royalty-free standard that could end up in unifying computing and consumer electronic industry in a single sweep.

According to the official FAQ, DiiVA enables transport of uncompressed video, multi-channel audio, USB, Ethernet, commands [TV control other devices on DiiVA network], power [just like Power over Ethernet, 5W total]Sand unfortunately broken-for-good content protection. The maximum cable length is currently set at 25 meters between two points. By using a planned repeater device [powered by the DiiVA cable itself], you can increase this to 50 meters. Honestly, I would love to see this coming to life… because if this standard really kicks off, imagine how much display we could connect on a graphics card. By simple rule of thumb, we calculated that a standard single-slot graphics card could fit six RJ-45 connectors - six displays! Now, DiiVA will not use the RJ-45 connector, but will develop new, user-friendly connector [look out for magnetic docking a'la Apple MacBook and ATI's XGP connectors]. After DisplayLink and their brilliant USB solution, this one just may do the trick in the world of consumer electronics. Truth to be told, DisplayLink USB could probably fit around 4-8 connectors on a single graphics card.
In the end, we presume that the sheer force of LG, Panasonic, Samsung and the Chinese government is enough to make DiiVA a success. You can expect the first devices to debut in eight months from now, during CES 2010 in Las Vegas.

nVidia's GT300 specifications revealed - it's a cGPU!
Over the past six months, we heard different bits'n'pieces of information when it comes to GT300, nVidia's next-gen part. We decided to stay silent until we have information confirmed from multiple sources, and now we feel more confident to disclose what is cooking in Santa Clara, India, China and other nV sites around the world.
GT300 isn't the architecture that was envisioned by nVidia's Chief Architect, former Stanford professor Bill Dally, but this architecture will give you a pretty good idea why Bill told Intel to take a hike when the larger chip giant from Santa Clara offered him a job on the Larrabee project.
Thanks to Hardware-Infos, we managed to complete the puzzle what nVidia plans to bring to market in couple of months from now.
What is GT300?
Even though it shares the same first two letters with GT200 architecture [GeForce Tesla], GT300 is the first truly new architecture since SIMD [Single-Instruction Multiple Data]Sunits first appeared in graphical processors.
GT300 architecture groups processing cores in sets of 32 - up from 24 in GT200 architecture. But the difference between the two is that GT300 parts ways with the SIMD architecture that dominate the GPU architecture of today. GT300 Cores rely on MIMD-similar functions [Multiple-Instruction Multiple Data]S- all the units work in MPMD mode, executing simple and complex shader and computing operations on-the-go. We're not exactly sure should we continue to use the word "shader processor" or "shader core" as these units are now almost on equal terms as FPUs inside latest AMD and Intel CPUs.
GT300 itself packs 16 groups with 32 cores - yes, we're talking about 512 cores for the high-end part. This number itself raises the computing power of GT300 by more than 2x when compared to the GT200 core. Before the chip tapes-out, there is no way anybody can predict working clocks, but if the clocks remain the same as on GT200, we would have over double the amount of computing power.
If for instance, nVidia gets a 2 GHz clock for the 512 MIMD cores, we are talking about no less than 3TFLOPS with Single-Precision. Dual precision is highly-dependant on how efficient the MIMD-like units will be, but you can count on 6-15x improvement over GT200.
This is not the only change - cluster organization is no longer static. The Scratch Cache is much more granular and allows for larger interactivity between the cores inside the cluster. GPGPU e.g. GPU Computing applications should really benefit from this architectural choice. When it comes to gaming, the question is obviously - how good can GT300 be? Please do bear in mind that this 32-core cluster will be used in next-generation Tegra, Tesla, GeForce and Quadro cards.
This architectural change should result in dramatic increase in Dual-Precision performance, and if GT300 packs enough registers - performance of both Single-Precision and Dual-Precision data might surprise all the players in the industry. Given the timeline when nVidia begun work on GT300, it looks to us like GT200 architecture was a test for real things coming in 2009.
Just like the CPU, GT300 gives direct hardware access [HAL]Sfor CUDA 3.0, DirectX 11, OpenGL 3.1 and OpenCL. You can also do direct programming on the GPU, but we're not exactly sure would development of such a solution that be financially feasible. But the point in question is that now you can do it. It looks like Tim Sweeney's prophecy is slowly, but certainly - coming to life.

AMD-ova proizvodna tvrtka-kćer Globalfoundries pokrenula je usvajati 32 nanometarsku tehnologiju kako bi krenula s primanjem narudžbi u razdoblju između četvrtog kvartala 2009. i prvog kvartala 2010.
Uspije li zamisao tvrtki Globalfoundries i AMD, ovo bi mogao biti vrlo veliki korak ka 32nm tržištu, kako bi bili konkurentni tvrtkama United Microelectrics i Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (koje rade na vlastitom 32nm radnom procesu).

Core i5 specifikacije i cijene
Rađen u 45nm proizvodnom procesu, Intelovi prvi Socket 1156 procesori raditi će na frekvencijama od 2.66, 2.8 i 2.93 GHz. Procesori će sadržavati četiri jezgre i integrirani dual-channel DDR memorijski kontroler.
Kako razni izvještaji kažu, nadolazeći 2.66, 2.8 i 2.93 GHz čipovi podržavati će Turbo Boost tehnologiju koja će omogućavati single-core overclocking od 3.2, 3.46 i 3.6 GHz, zasebno. Što se cijena tiče, procesori će se prodavati po iznosima od 196, 284 i 562 američkih dolara. Najjeftiniji, 2.66 GHz model neće podržavati mogućnosti poput Hyper Threading, vPro i TXT.
